Our passion. Our motivation. Our coffee.

Three true friends
The brothers Avni and Barry Berisha, passionate restaurateurs in Munich for over 15 years, hosts of the cafés “Königin 43”, “Nebenan” and “Gegenüber”, all of them places of longing, places of enjoyment, living rooms of the district.
Burkhard von Freyberg, Munich native of gastronomy and the hotel industry, professor of gastronomy management at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, entrepreneur and author, regular guest of the cafés and companion.
All three share a passion for espresso and coffee. Together, they founded Freyberg & Freunde GmbH in Munich in 2020 with the goal of producing exceptional coffee and espresso blends and providing customers and guests with special moments of enjoyment and happiness.
Our story
The von Freyberg coffee roasts originate from a joint venture between the brothers Berisha and Burkhard von Freyberg. Coffee has always played a major role in the centuries-old family history of the Barons von Freyberg Eisenberg Allmendingen, both as a luxury item and as an intoxicant. Coffee was consumed at all times of day in the stately homes. Guests were delighted to be served select specialties, and the owners were gracious hosts.
Throughout the years, they have always strived to avoid compromising on the quality of their coffee, both in purchasing and in the careful preparation. Preserving the best, keeping traditions alive, and leading the company into the future with conviction in these turbulent times is what the three friends strive for.
The Berisha brothers have been in Munich for over 15 years and passionately run three cafés where coffee and espresso have always been the focus.
For several years, the three friends, together with the Italian roaster Roberto Mandica, have been working on the perfect blends and in 2020 they named their creations “von Freyberg Munich Espresso” and “von Freyberg Munich Coffee”.

Live and let live.
We care not only about the ecological side of coffee production, but also want to leave a social footprint. We live by the principles of sustainability and fairness.
